Georgetown Walkers and Other Types of Awesome People You Should Aspire to Be

Cross this off of the Kristine List of Things to Do ...list:

I went to Georgetown all by my lonesome today.

HOW FREAKING RIDICULOUS IS THAT. In a good way, of course. If I ever told my sweet, crazy mother back home in Orange County (yes, that Orange County), she'd yell. Or be left in awe, which is how I like to picture her sometimes. Anyways, I think that if anyone in this crazy mess of DC/VA/MD ever needs to get out, hopping on the Metro with your iPods and your Blackberry, Crackberry, whatever -- this will change your life. Or at least keep you on your toes. Take pictures, eat delicious food, pretend to be some trendy-ass snob on M Street, and it will make the world a better place.

Unless you're actually on a mission to find a particular book, which wasn't in stock at Barnes and Noble, then you're really SOL, my friend.

Unrelated Music News:
- The Killers come around these here parts on April 26 at the GMU Patriot Center in Fairfax. Tickets go on sale Saturday through Ticketmaster. If you've got a friend who's signed up to the 9:30 Club e-mail updates, I'd suggest trying to seduce them for the presale password.
- Bright Eyes and The Decemberists shows are sold out. Damnit.Don't get me wrong, Connor, but you've got nothing on Colin. Sigh.

Pandas: They're all just numbers

I highly doubt my intro post will knock the socks off of Patrick's. You want to know why?

1) It is 11:57pm.
2) It is 11:57pm and I'm tired.
3) Entourage is on, and Jeremy Piven's voice is really distracting.

But anyways, Welcome to Big Tuna??
Just picture two awesome and witty college students sitting at their computers, blinded by the light that is Journalism(TM) class, writing a blog. YAAAAAAY. We will knock your socks off with our modern technology.

---

In all seriousness, I'm here to talk about the most important thing known to man: PANDAS. If you weren't in the know, the Research and Conservation Center for Giant Pandas (phew) wants you to name 18 baby pandas. All of them.

The only reason that they're doing this is because these researchers and conservationers (not to mention the giant pandas) are lazy, lazy people/animals-- and make up for it by creating a cute contest to see who comes up with names they could've jotted down in two minutes. Awww.

OBSCURE MUSIC GUARANTEED TO GIVE YOU INDIE STREET CRED:
Klaxons are the Arctic Monkeys of 2007, in a sense -- happy, jumpy/Beck-meets-Bloc Party-type music only the British can truly pull off. Not to mention, they've got an insane fashion sense. Since I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon, much to the delight of NME/everyone else in this world (who actually listens to this stuff), I thought I'd just give you my small bit of insight on what I've heard so far. Must-have tunes include "Golden Skans", "Gravity's Rainbow", and a delicious rendition of Justin Timberlake's "My Love" really stand out. All in all, great band, great sound, and I can't wait to see what's in store for them in 2007.

...IT'S OVERRRRRRRR.

oh Marymount, y u so boring?

Welcome to Big Tuna??

I am currently sitting in my room, headphones on, Dreamgirls blaring to extinguish the sounds of the professional wrestling program being watched on the tv in my room.

I should be reading for any one of my classes, writing in my journalism journal, or jockeying for one of the three washers/two dryers on my floor, but writing seems more important right now.

Can I blame my current attitude on the Dreamgirls soundtrack? I get back from class, work, or whatever and immediately hit the play button on my iTunes remote widget. When the soundtrack is completely played through, I double click on the first song and allow the process to repeat itself once again. I feel like I'll never get out of this vicious, yet amazing cycle. While this goes on, I click through the blogs that I read and facebook people aimlessly. I read the 20 emails that my English teacher has sent me since I've last checked my inbox and hope it all ends soon. But it doesn't. It never will.

This semester is like really good and really bad at the same time? Or something.
